(Vogue) What do you do? Tell me.
(JD) I’m Jackson. I am an animator and film maker.
(Vogue) What stories are you trying to tell?
(JD) I create stories centred around things that make us human. My work explores identity, memory, imagination and belonging.
(Vogue) and where are you from?
(JD) I come from beautiful Tauranga, I moved to Te Whanganui-a-Tara at the ripe age of 17, now 10 years on I am still here. If this was America this is essentially like shifting to Hollywood, it's the closest thing we've got to the showbiz.
(Vogue) And what's your go to coffee order?
(JD) Just a coffee... What ever happened to just regular ol' coffee?
(Vogue) And what's your opinion on Pineapple on Pizza?
(JD) Okay, this is a hot take but I actually prefer my Pizza on a Pineapple
(Vogue) Ouchie! Like are we talking sliced up Pineapple or skin on?
(JD) Skin. On.
(Vogue) Right. Well Sunrise or Sunse-
(JD) Pineapple. With Pizza toppings on top... At Midday
(Vogue) That wasn't an optio-
(JD) No it wasn't... Much like this interview, I didn't have an option, you've just barged into my home office where I work from and have interrogated me. This is sick. You need to leave.
(Vogue) But we still have another 66 questions
(JD) Why don't I ask you a question?
(Vogue) Sure
(JD) Machete? or Bazooka?
(Vogue) oH MY GOD
(JD) GET THE F**K OUT, NO MORE F****NG QUESITONS. I WONT TELL YOU ABOUT MY DOG OR MY LOVE FOR MOVIES OR THAT I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR WORK, JUST GET THE F**K OUT. SURE IM MULTI-DISCIPLINED BUT I'M NOT SPREAD THIN, I KNOW HOW TO HANDLE A BAZOOKA AS WELL AS I KNOW ANIMATION.
(Vogue) Quickly, lets get out of here! RUN RUN!
(JD) And stay out!
